COST.....Usually you wouldn't pay no more than a tenner, but sometimes they cost between £3-£15.
HOW IT'S TAKEN.....Usually just by popping a pill but they can be smoked or snorted upthe nose. The drug is called methylene dioxymethamphetamine (MDMA) and is usually stamped into tablets with a design on one side and a split down the other. They can also come in capsules but these seem to have died out the last few years.
EFFECTS.....The effect of ecstasy usually kicks in between 20 minutes and an hour after taking it and only lasts a few hours. Your skin starts to feel tingly and warm and your pupils become dilated, your jaw tightens and you may feel nausea and loss of appetite. Music will seem louder and you will want to dance and you might experience a mild euphoric rush. It also will make you more loving and want to hug and be close to people as well as making you horny. You might find your eyes rolling to the back of your head and you might get tempory lock jaw, this usually means you've done a lot or you've done a really good one. You might also feel like talking crap like when your on speed.
DANGERS.....As this is a class a drug there are quite a few dangers but if
your responsible and careful you should be o.k.first of all don't go over the top and be patent, try not to do more than one at a time and wait for it to come up before doing another, I've seen too many people drop a second one 20 minutes after the first because there not coming up (including myself) and then being totally out of it when both decide to come up at the same time. And please be weary of double dropping, especially if you don't know what the pills are like before hand.
The most important danger is dehydrating, especially if your at a hot club dancing all night, make sure you drink enough water (about a pint an hour if dancing) and make sure you have several breaks during the night to chill out. Also all that sweating makes you loose a lot of salt in your body so before you go out try and eat something salty so you've got that bit extra.
make sure you don't drink to much water as this can be as dangerous as not drinking enough, it can lead to the brain swelling leading to unconsciousness and even death
You may start to get hallucinations, don't panic, find someone you trust and sit down and chill with them for a while.
A lot of ecstacy these days aren't even ecstacy and are just a load of other chemicals put together like speed- heroin-special
k-lsd, even rat poison and soap powder have been found in some pills so be
carefull, buy them of someone you know. Hopefully the government will change there mind soon and allow testing to go on in clubs thus making it safer all round.
PERSONAL EXPERIENCES.....Even though I don't do pills any more (I for some reason don't come up on them anymore) I've had plenty experience with them starting way back in 89/90 when the first pill I ever done was an original dove and the one pill had me rushing for a whole weekend (if only we could go back in time) now days it seems there so week you have to do at least several of them just to get you going. I've had untold excellent experiences on them in my time but I've also had my fair share of bad times, so be warned, with the good comes the bad.
My first bad experience was about 91/92 at seduction , I basically done to many (only three) and ended up hallucinating really bad not knowing where I was then passing out three times, it was scary as I'd never experienced anything like that before and I had no one to look after me. After that I changed and ended up being the one who looked after everyone else. I lost it a few times on snowballs when they first came out and I personally think they have done a lot of people some permanent damage.
The next time I lost it was in 93/94 at reincarnation when stupid me ended up doing seven doves, I kept having mega spasms going through my whole body, I thought I was going to die. That put me of for a while up until 97 when I overdid it in Ibiza and ended up trying to commit suicide seven times and ended up in hospital for over a month. Since then I've given pills a rest, I've tried a few but just haven't come up. Most people I know still use them though and have been for many a year, will they ever stop?? Probably not, well not until something happens to them like it did me!!!
